Robbo2232
Hi all, i will be moving in a few months, i will be rebuilding the tank in my new place. i am looking for tips or photos of your set-ups to get some ideas. its currently stocked with E/Yellows Peacocks B/N's, loaches and a red devil my ideas are to put in a UGJ, sand, new rocks and background. my idea is to try and make it maintenance free as possible here is a pick to show what is looks like now, Thanks for your help, Rob
kilroy
gday mate, If I only had 3 words they would be 'Pool Filter Sand'. It is extremely clean and doesn't tend to trap debris like some other sands. I would scrap the UGJ idea, they are nitrate traps. Instead of having heaps of different rocks cluttered all around the place, why don't you try getting some 'lucky stones' from a landscaping place and having just a couple of piles of rocks with some space in the middle for your fish to swim around? This is what one of my setups looks like with the Pool Filter Sand, and a simple painted blue background. Good luck with it and please post some pics! kilroy
Hi, The paint we used is just Wattyl Killrust Epoxy Gloss Enamel. Costs about $20 for 500ml. You will need a good 3-4 coats though with a couple of days between each coat. Cheers Shane

kilroy
I used bl;ack spray paint on my background I've tried black, but it wasn't great for photography. I found blue to be the best compomise. Cheers Shane
