writemeplz
one texas female had died after one heater glass was broken down. they didnt get any damalge from the glass. after that, the male doesnt eat any. tried with garlic soaked food and beef heart. but he still doesnt eat. Also one GT has not been eating for about 2 month and she has white stringy poo all the time. I have treated melafix, salt, epsom salt, Trichlorfon treatment. But so far nothing has changed their appetite. really wonder how they still survive without eating anything. Even they dont try to get to food at all. Any idea? Thanks Regards Eddie
MitchWA
I'm not 100% sure, but doesn't white stringy poo indicate intestinal parasites? Maybe a treatment more specific to the problem may be in order? HTH Mitch

Ash
If they aren't eating worming them would be pretty hard, good luck Can americans get that "wasting" condition?
kilroy
White stringy poo can be a sign of bloat. I would think if it was bloat though they would all be dead by now. Certainly the stress of a heater breaking could bring on a dose of bloat.

Barca888
Could try out some levamisole. Cured my clown loach from intestinal parasites and started eating the next day. Not hard on the fish either.
electricyellowz
Could the white "pimples" be white spot?
Citypainter
Could the white "pimples" be white spot? I reckon so. Drop the water level. Measure your water and dose the tank with white spot cure. Turn up the heat to 30deg. Add an aerator or at least turn up existing air. Follow instructions on bottle. Do some gravel vacs between doses. Sounds like you will lose all your fish if you don't act soon.

Well, My clown loaches had ICK before (From my memory, white spots look more tiny and brighter to me) but these pimples dont seem to be like that(looks like more pimples than spots). I have increased the temperature to 30 with added more salt for 4 days before. But these pimple still there. Or maybe I should have kept the temp high for more than a week? I will try levamisole solution next week. Hopefully it will solve the problems.
electricyellowz
Ich wont disapear in just 4 days you also need to gravel vac the whole tank and keep the temp up for at least a week. And dont forget lots of oxygen for the fish.
writemeplz
I have decided to use the combination of the Salt treatment and levamisole after your advices here. http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/treatment_tips.php http://www.loaches.com/Members/shari2/leva...hydrochloride-1 I have treating the salt method last week then this week used levamisole method with pre and post water changes. I can see that the sick texas is trying to eat even though he doesnt eat but try to get to food. And the fungus on his skin disappeared with the salt method and melafix and the lumps are getting smaller now. But the poor GT still doesnt have any interest on food and still have white poo. I am going to the levamisole treatment next week for the second round then see. By the way, if levamisole is not harmful to fish, is it ok not to change water for a week after the treatment? BTW, they all eat now. I put the URL for the product I used for your reference.
