Love this fish. So prehistoric looking. 35cm.

Love it nice size has he grown much in the time you have had him.

I think he needs a mate to chew on .

How about when you look really close at the bony make up of the head talk about prehistoric.

That's it I going to try and get some shots of my big girl lol

i find they grow extremely fast, mine were 10cm to 40cm in less than 12 months, then i sold them

i will see if i can load some pics up soon

It is indeed a fish. Polypterus endlicheri, grow to roughly 75cm.

they grew too fast, i didnt have the room, i let them go for $400 each, to a freind. One has since died. It was found dead with a bristlnose stuck in his mouth. It tried to eat a BN, BN got stuck, endie couldnt spit it back out, and since endies go up the surface for air, the fish simply drowned, shame to see it go really, but oh well :(

I almost lost mine the same way it had an oscar stuck in its throat i watched it for awhile struggling to spit it out then i realised it wasn't coming out so i looked aroud the shed for pliers when i got back my endli was almost belly up! I ripped him out and pulled the sucker out of its throat and it came back, just in the nick of time.
