huzzy
Sharp razor....a blunt one will just try and push the silicon off. Just keep the razor flat on the glass....remember your stripping off silicon, not buttering bread.

hobcas
I have found that after using a "sharp" razor blade that my wifes nail polish remover has been pretty successful in removing the last remnants of silicone......ssshhhhh don't tell her where its gone. moldyform
I find the quickest way to remove the majority of the silicon is to just run a length of fishing line between the glass and the silicon. Works perfectly. The silicon simply just falls off. This way there is no chance of damageing your hand or the tank. Cheers
