Hey guys,

Recently had a pair of Geophagus Brachybranchus spawn, the male of this pair also spawns with another female i have... yesterday the male and female that spawned both had a mouthful, this afternoon it looks like the male has given his mouthful to the other female in the tank... so i got a male kickin back doin nothin with 2 females tumbling eggs, one of which had nothin to do with this spawn...

Anyone had this happen before? or is this guy just a pimp! :lol3:

I have seen my Pindare do this.Probably just a typical male,"i've done my bit,you look after them from here attitude". :p Keep an eye on them as it could just be passing them around so as to feed.I have seen mine do this often, they will swap mouthbrooding duties while feeding or wanting to take a break. Nothing to worry about.

Hey Keith,

Thanks mate, I knew male and female of the spawn swap duties so the other can feed/rest, but never seen them use another fish lol

I actually had another pair spawn 3 days before these guys which i put a divider at one end of the tank for. I hadn't seen a pair look after their young before because there are so many fish in the tank, sometimes i strip if i can. The divider worked and i have finally seen a pair looking after their young :lol4:
