electricyellowz
There are some poor electric yellows out there lately and there is not much you can do for their colour except feeding a high quality food. What do you feed them?

oakes
ok then would it just be there colours that would be wrong with them would the be able to breed still and throw normal e yellows if breed with another blood lin. thx adam Give them a chance to settle in and see if their colour improves. In the end if you are not happy with them I suggest you reject them and start afresh. You could introduce better stock but it may take a number of generations to get the quality up to a consistent level and it really wouldn’t be worth the effort in my opinion. I would only attempt this with a rarer species that were not freely available.
ZULU
I got a large electric yellow from the cichlid fish auction a few years ago. When I got him home he was totally white. I gave him a diet of HBH vege and tetra colour bits and he went a really bright yellow. Great fish and I've had him for years and he has produced some really spectacular offspring. I think it can sometimes be both stress and previous poor diet / water conditions. Regards Michael
bn fan
yeh im hoping they will return to normal colour how long did it take for your e yellow to regain its colour back to normal. yeh im not sure if the guy feed them a poor quality food or if they were very stressed i guess i just have to wait and see if they will return to normal. thx adam
D6C1
Give them some time to settle and a proper diet and they should fine. Fish lose their colour due to stress/moving/new environment.
Mani A
yeh alot of electric yellows aren't looking good because of poor breeding parents try not to later breed these fish (they could ruin the blood lines) other bad fish also have black spots or faint stripes, don't buy or breed these fish
