fosco
hi this one is for you tropheus addicts. i was just wondering if it is possible to keep a colony of tropheus in a community cichlid tank their mates will be a couple of Green terrors, red hump, firemouth and a chocolate cichlid. at the moment they are in a tank by themselves but i would like to put them in my other tank as that one is my display tank it is 6 foot long. Josh
I would have to say nope on all counts. What parameters are completely different. If you already have them in a tank by them selfs it would be best to leave them there. Josh
Colfish
do you keep the trophs in different water conditions now, or is everyone just in dechlor tap water?. there is [should be] a vast difference in the water paremeters between sa and africans. also consider the food difference jmo
electricyellowz
I would not risk it. The colony of trophs would be worth a bit and I have a feeling they could become an expensive and tasty snack for the Sa's. Just a colfish said there should really be major differences in the tank setups/water peramaters and foods for these fish. Just remember they come from different continents! rosco
I would say nope as well. Tropheus are vegetarians so you would need to feed vege flakes or move them over to NLS. Even if you feed NLS the water parameters are vastly different and Tropheus are much happier in a species only or with another Tropheus variant. huzzy
I agree with everything said above. What water parameters are you keeping your Tropheus in at the moment? What are you feeding them?
