moldyform
Setting up my 6x2x2 for calvus. I aslo have a few other dwellers like Flavus and Afra's. What would be the best out of these two substraits for Calvus? Also what size grain do Calvus like? Does any one have any pics of there shells that they are using for their Calvus? huzzy
Calvus and Flavus/Afra's are from different lakes, and hence to flourish they require different water conditions. Calvus and Altos also do well with large barnicles, though at the end of the day it comes down to the individual fish's preferance. Good Luck. parkesg
I agree with Huzzy plus flavus can be extremeley aggressive. I wouldn't mix them, calvus are a slow moving quite fish, malawi mbuna are not. Substrate for calvus is not that important, if you are using shells some females like to bury it (almost like a shell dweller) but on the most part calvus do not use substrate. If you want to use substrate for buffering this is another story. In terms of shells you can really try and put a few different types in there and see which one the female chooses.
