andrew8710
Hey, Im looking at setting up a tropheus tank but the tank i was going to use has a a piece of wood in one end and because of height restrictions i cant get the piece out. It only takes up 1/4 of the tank and i was going to put a rock pile in the other end.. Is there any reason why it would be a problem having wood in there with the tropheus? Thanx Andrew
Bruce
Can you try and break the wood up to remove it? I don't think it'd do any real harm however it would lower the pH. Bruce
TropheusQueen
From a structural perspective it will just make another territory to inhabit and fight over. However, dependant on the age of the wood it wil definately lower the pH and regardless of what you use to buffer the water you will continually be fighting it's effects. I would remove it as the T's love their water parameters to remain stable.

parrdog
If you can, I also think your Ts will be happier with the water parameters if you can get it out. Jamie.
