hello everyone

background info: i now have some space in the garage after a clean up. so i want to upgrade from a standard 4ft tank to either one BIG tank with stand or 2 tanks on top of eachother on one stand

the space to play with: 5ft length (max). 180cm in height (can push to 190cm max). and deepth is upto 3ft... i dont have to use all of the space but the more the better. :lol3:

so wat would u have?..

* i was thinking 4x2x2 or 2.5ft high (its a big jump in price for the extra .5ft/thicker glass but visually awesome)

or

* two 4ft or 5ft x ?? x (deeper the better) .. something like that, one would sit close to the foor and the other one top.

i have a shelf in the garage and thats why i dont have much height to play with <_<

im also thinking which will be most cost effective (power bills mainly - ideal 4 plugs: heater, light, filter, airpump, & setup cost not to fussed.. but like evryone the lower the better)

i like and have a range of fish.. from plecos, cats and cichlids + heaps of decor etc- so stocking isnt an issue

suggestions? experiences?

thanks

ps. i have a WTB thread so if you have anything forsale. pm me :thumb

G'day Antz

It really comes down to what you want to do. Do you want a single tank or two tanks?

What sort of fish do you want in the tank(s)? This is relatively important EG. If you want to breed Cats then I would be getting three foot tanks. If you want to raise fry then use 2ft or 18inch tanks (Ends facing to the front) or for something like say a beautiful display tank go for the suggestted BIG tank above. For tropheus I would suggest at least 18x18 tanks although 2Fx2ft tanks are the go.

The list goes on what do you want to keep.

If running costs are important I would go for Side Drop Filters. They are powered by air. If you need the best foiltration possible go for a Sump/Trickle Filter.
