I have a heap of fry such as salousi, lombardio, rustys, acei msuli points, afra cobwe, most of these fish seem to be around the 2-3cm mark, I have just recently moved these into a 6x2x2 to grow them out. My question is how long does it usually take them to get to around 5cm, What food do you guys/gals recommend to feed them, i give them a mixture of crushed pellets, and flake, but is there any special food i should be using to grow them quicker? I have had these for about 3-4months now. and have a heap more on the way. any info would be great, as im all new to this.

cheers

Shouldn't take to long at all in a tank that size. Just keep the food up to them ( I feed my fry 3-4 times a day ) and do plenty of water changes. Turning the temp up a degree or two ( up to 26-27) can also increase growth rate. As for what to feed them, I prefer to feed a variety of flake and pellet foods. I also feed Brine and Mysis shrimp. Everyone has their own preferance when it comes to fry food.

mixing up the food variety always helps try once in a while throwing in some bloodworms. When selecting bllodworms buy only trusted brands and dont skim on the price..Hikari and Aqua one a good brands they are safe and have a nice red colour. The cheaper version may contain parasites and display a dark brown colour.
