dave mac
I recently purchased an aqua one 620T (wet dry filtration ... i think) tank and am currently housing a few small african cichlids. At the place of purchase they storeman told me i needed to replace the media (wool) every 4-6 weeks and this could be done by purchasing a strip of wool, cutting a desried size and replacing the old media (as this would be the cheapest option). The tank came with media which consisted of woolen carbon insert cartiridge, black sponge and bio balls. My question is do i need to replace the woolen carbon insert media with aqua one carbon inserts (approximatley $20 every 4-6wks) or can I go with the stores advice on purchasing a strip of filter wool (about $16) which i can cut to size which will last approximatley 6 replacement times. Dreamwater
You could also try Clark Rubber, I get mine from there at around $10 per metre and the roll is 1.5 metres wide....
motorman
I would use the sores Advice and use the Poly pad made my HBH or AquaONe You can also use the Carbon sponge as well Though only replace the Carbon sponge every month and replace the poly sponge when it loses it shape Brad-
huzzy
I wouldnt worry too much about the carbon pad. A cheaper and more effective way would be to buy one of the filter bags ($8) and some of your favourite band's carbon. (mine is seachem). Place it under one of your woolen pads and replace once every 6 weeks. More effective and cheaper. Also, i would replace the ceramic noodles with something like Seachem Matrix at one point as well. It performs a lot better. Good Luck!
motorman
Though it will be more effective to use Seachem Carbon it will still be cheaper to go the pads As pads are around the $10-$12 mark and you would get between 4 and 5 from one pad I agree with the Matrix this will work alot better then the noodles Brad
