kylie_h
i have had my male and female salousi for about 7mths now living with hongi, electric yellows and a blue electra. the sud dominant male recently died and since i have placed all of them in a new tank which is alot larger (250l) than the previous tank which was only 80l. since being in the large tank my male who was previously a beautiful blue, has now lost most of his colour. even his black stripes have gone. i was just wondering what the reason could be for this? the water is good, the fish are the same (with the inclusion of 2 frontosas but they ignor eveything else) so i am puzzled. can anyone help? orcy
either: 1) someone else in the tank is now the dominant fish, and the saulosi has dropped his colors to try and not get beaten up too much 2 ) He may not have to compete for dominance in the larger tank, so doens't bother with full dress. only having one female doesn't give him much reason to dress up either. perhaps try moving some rocks around, or create a couple more piles that can be guarded. then he may color up a little more. i'd probably try and have a few more females in with him too. \good luck
