Ged
They are known as PVC Risers and Philmac is one company that produces them. From memory they come in 15mm, 20mm and 25mm diameter and from 15cm - 90cm long. The ones we use on the farm and the fish room are grey and I have never seen them in black. Unnatural_Selector
They had those threaded black risers at K-mart on sale for $1 each and joiners for 50c, I bought 6 and made my cannister intake/spraybars out of it. Nearly invisible against a black background. This was in Chatswood, I havent seen them anywhere else...

If I like the tank the way it turns out I am going to do the same to my 3x2x2 which I am about to put back together. But it has a sump so it will need a bit of extra work cutting out the acrylic bottom around the overflow. Just need to work out the strainer for the intake what did you use I only have the green one off the 2217 need a black one. I got the threaded black risers from bunnings for free I opened a new bag to get ones with no marks on them & screwed the joiners on to check the threads but left them on by mistake. The risers had no barcode on them & the check out girl zapped them all as one unit 50c for the risers and joiners. thx Rat

Unnatural_Selector
That will look great all black I reckon... and 50c what a scam! ..I mean accident.. Yeah I never found a strainer to fit, but I only have big fish in the tank, so I just drilled a pattern of different sized holes around one end. Works, and low profile. Would just have to stick sponges over the ends if theres ever any breeding action..
