Teamsherman
Is it just the male fish that do it?
Mazimbwe
Give us some more details...how long does the "Shimmy" last and what is happening before and after the shakes? If it is only short-time stuff it may be dominance display...more likely that it is the Dance of Looove!!!
Teamsherman
OK, the fish in question will follow the other fish around, and do the shakes every now and then whilst following. The other fish will then nudge the shaker either with the head or tail. So is this a good sign for me?
fishie4me
from pass experiences, i believe that the fish is getting the thin gon and going to breed... so if you want your fish to beed, its DEFINATELY a good sign.
Teamsherman
Yep, im hoping they will breed. My convicts have been in their tank for about 3 days and i already have a shedload of eggs in their cave. Wooohoooo, first egg layers to breed for me. Ute God
Yeap I had the same thing happen with my Pullu Male. I thought he might be retarded or something. But i went to LFS and asked and she said he is shimmering. But the female just gets wee wEEed off with him. He will chace her into a corner then shimmer she tries to ignore him then he chaces her around again. Then he will wait a while then try again....she never lets him mate though it so annoying...they have been doin this for about 4 weeks
