Richard
Hey guys; Just bought myself a Hagen GH/KH test kit and its got me confused. Firstly for GH it says to multiply the number of drops by 20, the number of drops i added till the colour changed was 7, so does this mean my GH is 140/ppm? Secondly it says to multiply the numbers of drops by 10 for KH, i added 3 drops so does that mean my KH is 30/ppm? Sorry its just got me confused because on peoples posts when they write down their rates for KH/GH the results are all single digits (i.e general hardness of 10-15). cheers; Richard
sycho zebra
Hey richard, They just use two different values, one in values dKh or dGh and one in ppm(parts per million) figues just use one type and stick with it.
Richard
So then how would i measure it in dKh/dGh instead on ppm? cheers; Richard
Nigel
Richard it should have it on the test kit box. If not then one German degree of hardness = 17.8ppm I think this applies to KH as well. The best kits are Sera test kits easer to understand and use. It might help if you let us know what levels you are trying achive.
