gingerbeer
My pair of green severum are thinking of breeding behind a rock at the moment. They are about 10 cm long. Funny thing is my big male Fenestratum knows something is going on. Even though it is the oppositie end of the tank from his end he keeps on going and breaking them up. He only just fits in behind the rock and can;t move once he is there, has to back up to get out. He never goes in there normally. And he has got on his very best clothes. Funny bugger. Ash
same sort of thing happened to my sevs when I had them in with my larger synspilum - I think it's just "If I can't get busy, no-one can!!"
Ash
So no one else has any experiences like this? Steve - If you want the sevs to breed give them their own tank, at that small a 3 footer would do.
gingerbeer
True Ash, I could seperate to a three footer, but it is too funny. They have now moved to the other end of the tank, fought off a blue acara slightly bigger than then, deal with the small female fenestratum just under 15cm, and then just when things look cosy along comes big Freddy again. He times it perfectly just to give them time to settle before injecting himself. Whole family sat down after dinner watching them rather than TV. Priceless. Big freddy also injected himnslef between them and the little fenestatum very deliberately at one stage. Looked almost protective.
