Ducksta
I can't say who has them but I am fairly sure they have gone through Sydney auctions in the past??
GTR73
They were up here for a while, at a few LFS businesses, but be hard to find now. I don't know of any breeders with them on the QLD forum anymore but I have seen "Blue Peacocks" regularly in the classifieds being sold by the same guy. I rang up the seller once to see exactly what a "Blue Peacock" is and his response was simply it was called a "Blue Peacock". I presumed it was a Masoni but didn't want to take the punt on an unknown. A mate of mine got a Masoni from a local LFS as a juvie and had it for about 2 years. He was so excited when he first got it, but it turned out to be a female.
AzFish
its a shame there is not too many of these floating around. Truly an amazing peacock.
phatoscarlover
There are a few around in melbourne, weve got a big colony (probably 15-20 fish) @ 5-6cm and Aussie still has them and usually has fry, below is a pic of one of our males, hes one of the originaly imported males but has been retired to a display tank now.... phatoscarlover
See how much the market can change from state to state, i thought you must have been kidding when you implied maisoni were rare Not alot of Ethelwynne's down here, im still waiting for aussies to get busy! AzFish
Nah would not consider masoni or ethels rare..considering you can import them in, just not widely kept more like it.... Andy, love those pics mate, really tempted to get another 4fter and get a colony going.... Cheers, Aaron
aussiem
For the last 3-4 auctions I have put in 3 bags of Maisoni so someone must have fry by now? If not then I will put some more in in March regards Aussie
GTR73
Mr Peacock has surfaced! I like the Masoni. I had a hyper dominant Elec Blue that terrorised my display tank for a while and I decided to get rid of him for a Masoni. Great plan, but couldn't find any quality if not "real" Masoni males around the place. It in the end I got myself a real nice imported Korneliae instead. But now I'm at a point where there's too many fish I want and not enough tank space. But guys like Aussie are so great for the hobby as they keep breeding the quality and sharing it around.
