csmacd
Silly question, I know. I'm planning out a largeish shell-dweller thank. Has anyone had any luck with shell-dewllers inhabiting shells on sand-covered large rocks or terraces, or do they only settle down on the bottom? Thanks! dan_thefish_man
Hey i read an article some time ago of Neolamprologus multifasciatus living on fake rock ledges half way up the tank made of fibreglass. Is this the kind of thing you mean? Cheers

Chilli Powder
Hi guys, I tried to do that but without much success. The reason being that they like to bury their shells completely or at least 80-90% of it in the sand. Unless you have some sort of a crator/cave in the rock, they will not use it. I was thinking about this a lot as my occies fight so much for shells and space. The only thing I was thinking about was a tray made out of fibreglass/plastic or glass and rest it on the rocks as a ledge. That might look pretty ugly but hey.... Better to give them a new tank I think. Arj.
