parkap
Hi, I'm trying to find out if there's any apistogramma breeders in the Wollongong or Southern Sydney areas. I'm currently in the process of resetting up my 6x2x2 fishtank. I'm setting it up primarily to apisto's, although I'm going to have some other mid-water and surface dweller fish to compliment them. While I live in Wollongong, I primarily order my fish from Fish Culture in Cremorne (North Shore Sydney), about an hour and a half drive away. Yes, a bit far but when you find a place you can trust and who you know care for their fish AND customers, you stick with it. Plus it gives me an excuse to do an aquarium run around southern Sydney, Liverpool and Campbelltown. Besides, no aquariums or gas suppliers in Wollongong will refill my Sera CO2 cylinder... Anyway, does anyone know of any breeders who sell apisto's? I've ordered 1 male and 2 females from Fish Culture of the following varieties: a.agassizii "double red" (german bred), a.cacatuoides, a.viejita "farb-form 2", a.borelli and a.trifasciatum. I'd love to get more varieties but don't want to overcrowd the tank, although I have set it up to with heavy planting, rocks (some I've drilled to provide additional good sized holes for hiding and maybe even nesting) and terracota pots to make territory establishment fairly easy, to avoid fighting - hopefully. Any contacts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
