taybelZ
Just wondering if anyone has had first hand experience with the eheim rip off feeders.... they cost 1/2 the price of the eheim. I got the eheim and does a pretty good job, but wouldn't mind saving some money. Age of aquariums sell them, but can't find much information online about them. ndoboi
Picked one up from AOA before Christmas, the first one didnt work but was exchanged no questions asked Just got back from 2 weeks holidays and all my fish are still alive, so I guess it works ok.... The time on it is still within 1 minute of all my other clocks. Easy to use, quiet and cheap. What more can i say. Cheers Steve
Waterboy
Don't waste your money on the fakes. They're just not reliable..... Save your money and get a eheim, they'll last you forever.. This is my experience with them over the years working in the trade

parrdog
The air intake port is an unreal idea. It would be interesting to see if it keeps flakes nice and dry, my guess is that it would do ok.
Bit Racer
Now someone needs to come up with a auto feeder that is ant proof. As most of our tanks are in garages, the ant's seem to find there way to the auto feeder to have a healthy feed no matter how much ant rid I use. Lee Miller
Hi David, I’ve got a few Eheim auto feeders, I’ve been using them for years and I haven’t had any problems – even when away for up to six weeks (son comes over a couple of times and tops up the food). I would really recommend Eheim – but I haven’t tried any of the others All my fish are fed flake daily, but not when I use the auto feeders. The Eheims have a little fan/rotor gizmo and some air vents that look like they’re supposed to aerate the food, but it doesn’t work. The trouble seems to be that the air getting in is too humid and the flake becomes moist and then clogs the feeder. Small pellets like HBH Cichlid Attack, Tetra Bits and Hikari Gold (Baby size) all go really well in auto feeders. And don't let Bit Racer scare you with ant stories - if you're like most of the rest of us your cockroaches will be big enough to keep the ants away Cheers,
