Trojan
I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting to ask this question... If I wanted to buy a second hand tank from here (or anywhere else for that matter) yet it won't fit into my car, who can I get to move the tank to my place? Thanks in advance. Ben
Well your mates are the best bet. Failing that try the person you are buying the tank from. If all else fails and you can't come up with anything else a removalist company will take care of it for you with a Ute/van/truck depending on the size of the tank. If I was you I would hit my mates up. You must know someone who drives a station wagon or Ute. I can fit a 6x2x2 in the back of my VT Commodore. GTR73
The best bet is using any transport with good suspension, like a station wagon or a van. May seem obvious but also provide plenty of cushioning and tie-down for the tank against any shocks in transit. I'd recommend 4" foam sheet if you can get it and if you get a van with floor tie-down points, use them. Many a tank has sprung a crack because people think a few blankets wrapped around it will suffice. If all you can get is a trailer, they're mighty harsh with little suspension and you'd need even more cushioning and tie-down that's for sure. mark_1
when i transported my tank i used the foam lids off the large foam boxs used to transport fish and 2 4 foot foam bases it was fine.
r.d.m
if you use a box trailer let the tyres down to 10-12 psi , much more glass friendly!
