mezzacam
Holy $%# they are some big mothers! Are you going to eat them when they die! Could feed a small army. How old are they? And how long do they live roughly?

I don't think your big giants can catch a tropheus! ← Why don't you loan Alex some Tropheus, maybe place a wager on it? They aren't considered the premier sport fish in the America's for their inability to move Nice fish Alex, pity about your camera work
MoliroMan
Ducksta..u can offer a few of your Wildcaught Bulu Points! Maybe u will be surprised what will happen. I think my tropheus will die of shock looking at those ugly brutes!! I am glad they are Americans and nowhere near lake Tanganyika!!! It takes a special kind of person to luv one of these guys!!! TropheusQueen
Each to their own Although I wonder if the same holds true for fish, about wanting bigger 'anything' to compensate for other things should do a paper on it for the psych mag Cheers Aline
parrdog
As you all know, I love my Tropheus, but those brutes are magnificant also . I would love to do a tank with some big guys one day. I won't be giving up the Trophs though. Nice pics, show some more, Jamie.
yellow
nice work alex good to see so many people keeping these guys with a bit of luck theyll be quite common in the future.im definetely not a tropheus fan.i just cant respect a fish that wont eat its tankmates if given the opportunity or at least attempt too even if theres no chance of them being able to swallow them.i also dont like them because i had a goal that i would one day be responsble for the scp's largest thread and now thanks to that tropheus photo thread ill never see it fulfilled couple of quick questions if i may how old are they??how long have you had them when did your males develop their humps do your males get along what size tank do you have them in and how do you find it thanks alex keep em coming
Ducksta
Are the males humps always so prominant and red? Lungy tells me when his boys hump begins to get prominant and 'glow' they generally spawn within a couple of days?
BaZ
My 22" male monoc, 17" male, 14" female Really gotta wonder about a fish which is measured in a system we ditched almost 40 yrs ago. It seems all the coolest fish are measured in metric these days Seriously though, nice fish. Would like to see some more pics which show the whole tank, is it aquascaped? Luke
Geez it must cost you a fortune to feed those guys

And how long do they live roughly? ← The two smaller ones would be about 2years old. I think the huge male was one of the first "imported" into Aus about 5 years ago. Impressive looking fish! I was wondering what size tank you keep them guys in ? ← 8x3x2.5 for now. nice work alex good to see so many people keeping these guys with a bit of luck theyll be quite common in the future.im definetely not a tropheus fan.i just cant respect a fish that wont eat its tankmates if given the opportunity or at least attempt too even if theres no chance of them being able to swallow them.i also dont like them because i had a goal that i would one day be responsble for the scp's largest thread and now thanks to that tropheus photo thread ill never see it fulfilled couple of quick questions if i may how old are they??how long have you had them when did your males develop their humps do your males get along what size tank do you have them in and how do you find it thanks alex keep em coming ← Males get along fairly well for now, although they haven't been in the tank for too long. They do like to flare at each other though. The big guy came from the tank with an even larger male. males usually develeope their humps at about 10" Are the males humps always so prominant and red? Lungy tells me when his boys hump begins to get prominant and 'glow' they generally spawn within a couple of days? ← The males humps fluctuate with thier moods and whats going on in the tank. I do know what lungy means y glow. ← I use inches as a measurement as 95% of fish forums are US or Asian based and all measure fish in inches. So I use inches when measuring fish and nothing else.
