Matty
I would never have thought that C. nicaraguense is a troublemaker. Must have some evil genes
anchar
Well more the fact that since her hubby passed away she was intent on splitting up another happy union elsewhere Two of her daughters are in that tank too because I have nowhere else to place them atm. D6C1
That pond looks really good! Are the fish in there all year round?
anchar
They only go in over summer. They went in too early as it turned out this year and had to endure sub 14C for 3 weeks or so. They look much happier now that it has warmed a little over here. I will retrieve them around April Andrea
anchar
Some more pond pics. If you look closely you can see some tadpoles sharing the food with the fish Andrea

dobbin4
Do i spot Mylochromis mola female that I'm after??? and Acei tan, what else in the ponds ??
anchar
There are rostratus, acei (msuli and tanzania), baensch's peacocks, mola, annectens and chromides in the pond. I just came in from feeding them and I have to say the colours are so different to tank colours. The rostratrus have always appeared greenish blue, but in the pond the green has disappeared and they are more powder blue (especially the tail). anchar
they are HUUUUGE tadpoles@!!!!?!?!? what? 15cm? do they have legs? I'd say the largest are a good 12cm...some have already made the transition into young frogs. They get ousted from the pond by the permanent residents though. I see them pop up around the garden in amongst the smaller ponds that I have. Nelson (one eye) has been living here for at least 4 years. They all have different patterns on their back so I can readily ID most of them. At present there are 14 different adults that live in/visit the pond. parrdog
. That's just awesome . I was giggling when I saw those little guys on the pipe. I love Frogs, such beautiful animals. When me and Kristy were in Florence this year there were heaps of Frogs in this really skanky water at the base of a fountain. They surprisingly looked very similar to Green and Golden Bell Frogs. I was so pumped when I saw 'em. I sat in front of the fountain for about an hour checking them out. Passers by thought I was a bit of a nut. They were wondering what I was doin' in front of a really run down, grafittied fountain. I was as happy as a pig in you know what though . We had a ball in Italy, it was unbelievable . Thanks so much for the piccies, it's so cool that you know them by name, Jamie.
