steve24cro
Hey Guys and Girls, I have decided to paint the back of my tank a nice marine blue colour. I need a few tips on whats the best type of paint to use for glass? Are there any easier ways of doing this, with regards to technique and to make sure theres no drips etc. im painting the tank upright (its already on the stand). Where is best place to purchase spray paint for glass? Or can you get it mixed customly to a certain colour etc? Also is using contact easier? Thanks
Ant
Just had a look in the FAQ for you, here is a link: http://www.aceforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=16137 Anthony
steve24cro
thanks for the link, just after some more opinions? Black seems like it would make the tank very dark!, i was thinking a bright ocean blue - slightly on the darker side rather than light blue. Do people spray it on or use a brush? parrdog
I get a nice even cover by doing several coats with a roller. I prepare first by painting on a layer of ESP (I think that's what it's called, it's that stuff that makes paint stick to slippery surfaces). Jamie. anchar
As Jamie has said As far as colour goes, grab swatches from Bunnings. Any acylic paint will do...just get a sample pot mixed up in the the colour you like. I have a few different colours but must say that I love the pale bluey-green (pale aqua) ones at my place the best. Andrea
teflon
I used a roller and normal house paint for mine. You can also get spray paint that is used for things like Remote controll cars but will get abit expensive as they cost about $10 each for a small can. You can also use spray paint but it is more of a hassel, And don't think you can only use the colours that the company's provide in spray packs as i cant teach you how to mix paint in cans HTH
