Shaun
Just wondering what i would expect to pay for Placidochromis Electra "Superior" not Gold Mbamba Bay. thanks
GTR73
Are they the Malawi Haplochromine that looks a bit like a Sunshine Peacock? Not really sure what they're worth sorry as I've not seen them around with any of the breeders up here and haven't really seen them mentioned in any of the forums. Mind you there's a few nice Lake Malawi species down in Vic that don't seem to be anywhere else in Oz.

Tiger
Sorry to say..........but that does not look anything like an electra! Here is what a P. electra should look like - this one is "likoma" HTH Cheers Kevin

Ant
Sorry to cry hybrid..but it looks like it's a peacock x electra hybrid to me. You may be able to prove me wrong so i'd have a look further into it because 'superior' is obviously not a location name. Try to find out the location. Apologies, I consider myself proven wrong . I would think that they are yet to hit our shores considering they are a relatively newish species according to one of those websites. Good Luck, I hope you find them or maybe get them imported some how, they look like a very nice species. Anthony
BlakeyBoyR
Hahaha, as soon as I saw that pic I knew it would only be a matter of time before someone yelled 'hybrid!'

Ged
There was a discussion back in October regarding the difference between Placidochromis sp. "Mbamba Bay" and Placidochromis electra (Electra Superior). This is what I said back then. I think a lot has to do with location and habitat. Placidochromis sp. "Mbamba Bay" is found in deep water in Mbamba Bay, Tanzania whilst Placidochromis electra (Mandalawi) (Electra Superior) is found from Chiwindi to Mara Point, Mozambique & Lumessi Mozambique to Ntekete Malawi in shallower water. ← I doesn't give you a price though. You should have some idea of their value from the VCS auction or are you asking for the price of juveniles?

huzzy
or maybe get them imported some how, they look like a very nice species. ← I have heard the supplier BayFish (www.bayfish.com.au) will bring things in from overseas as a special order. (assuming its legal) You still have to get it done through a LFS tho.......they dont deal direct. good luck.
