guppy01
My neons are always breeding in my community tank... but the eggs are eaten soon after being laid. They lay in the early morning in the plants. It's cardinal tetras which I've heard are impossible to breed.
23Skidoo
i hve heard of people using a multiple tank setup, 2 footers with plants and about 10cm of marbles on the bottom, the theory is the fish scatter the eggs and hey fall between the marbles, every few days you move the neons into another tnak , say 3 all up, and after 4 to 5 days you should have little tiny baby neons hiding among the marbles, ypou can have as many tanks setup as you like as they are egg scatterers and will constantly lay eggs if condotions are right. Exactly what conditions ARE right is a question for someone else. Good Luck
Brownfish
Here's a link to an article that the ex-President of the Canberra and District Aquarium Society wrote a few years ago. This guy has bred just about every species of Tetra that is commonly available in Australia, and he gives a reasonable description of his general technique in this article. Although the article is about Cardinal Tetras, the principle is the same. Although I think Neons are a little easier to raise than Cardinals.
