Upside down catfish?

Hey just wanna know the Scientific name of the Upsidedown Catfish. Wouldnt mind knowing there breeding method either, thanks.

Probably Synodontis nigriventris (which I happen to know as I have ben considering them).

Thanks people, will they breed in a malawi tank like S. Multies? by the articles it says that they breed in soft acidic water (not Malawi), but i guess im saying is this accurate?

Both the African upsidedowns (S nigriventris & S shoutedeni) are riverine, West african species. Soft to moderate acid to neutral water and are pretty shy fish.

Not a candidate for a rift tank IMO. Breeding reports are frew and far between but live food in abundance will get them in the mood. I had several spawns of S nigriventrus but never raised any fry. Just didn't know enough about them or the right food for the fry. Seems they are specialist mozzie feeders when small. Not easy!!
