wui39
What's the tank size? I use Sylvania 6500K 4ft T8 fluro lights from JRTurk. Bargain at $3 each. Someone did say that they could get 10000K from a certain wholesaler for $12 each though. I might try them eventually.

jaymes007
i use phillips 5000k Triphosphur Day Light Alto 36w 1220mm on all my tanks. They cost me $2.60 but that is with my staff discount. (retail approx $4) I find that they are quite good - i would like to try the 10000k, but i dont think my americans would really appreciate too much light. AzFish
depends on the look u want. I have used: 10000K by themselves ( Sylvania Brand ) I found them to be too yellow for my liking, same as the 6700K daylights, too yellow 10000K + actinics - (both Sylvania)looks really good together, this is what i use atm I use the above cobination on Tropheus tanks and malawi tanks ( haps and mbuba ) not sure how american fish would like the extra light.... AzFish
The sylvania are quite yellow for 10K tubes...bugger 15K go the whole hog and use 20K MH globes combined with actinics and man that would look nice and....blue...
BlakeyBoyR
I wouldnt use anything less than 14,000K when it comes to fluros, I think they're too yellow. Everyone's preferences are different though.
