ViS
We had a mate come out and take some shots of Ellie, our daughter. These are a few of my favourites. He used an Olympus E300. Obviously the first one is a photoshop of the second one he took.
ViS
Here is the original photoshop before I cropped it. Does it look better cropped or left alone?
anchar
I like it better pre-cropped Andrea
fman
I agree that pre-cropped is better. Adds to the mood, makes the child appear small and vulnerable (which in fact they are!). Better "mood". I love the resolution of the photos. The newer digital cameras are getting so much better. Wish I could justify the expense. I'll stick to my old one for a few more years.......maybe. ViS
I'm seriously considering the E500. Pretty much the same as the E300 but with a much better looking body and a few updated features.
TropheusQueen
Hey hey Andy, Pre-cropped for me too although all the shots are delightful. I wonder who she got those amazing eyelashes from Aline

Chilli Powder
she is a cutie! How old is she? Mine is only 11 weeks old.. they grow soo quickly! Now.. you need to find out how he made the photo black and white and kept the color of the rose!!!
Matty
Now.. you need to find out how he made the photo black and white and kept the color of the rose!!! ← Using Photoshop, click on the "magnetic lasso tool" and highlight the object. i.e: the rose. (you might need to adjust the setting at the top of the page). Once you have the rose highlighted, go to the "Select" tab and click on "Inverse." ( or Shft+Ctrl+I ). Once you have highlighted the background (i.e: everything but the rose) go to "Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation" (or Ctrl+U). Slide the Saturation bar down to -100 and Bob's you're uncle. HTH There might be an easier way to do it, I just haven't found it yet If this still doesn't make sense, please let me know. Andy, the photo looks better uncropped because it puts more emphasis on Ellie from the moss covered steps she's leaning against Mods, feel free to move this post to the Photoshop thread if it's necessary
