I have re-drilled a tank in let a few times but the chance of breaking is big. I think I've personally cracked one from about 6 that I've done... I think the key is slow and steady and heaps of water or lube of some sort (deffinately not KY or WetStuff )
Ash
Are these glass drills like a holesaw with a central drill & a cutting ring around the outside? or are they more like a spade or router bit? If they are like a holesaw, a sheet of plywood or something to centre the central drill should help with re-drilling. just curious.
trofius
firstly , why? that should provide 3000+lph of flow yes it can be redrilled carefully and a glass holesaw has no centre bit, so geting started can be fun!
Nigel
There is no need to increase the size of the hole and take the risk of cracking the tank. All you need to do is put a 25mm fitting in the hole and attach a 40mm pipe to it. This will give you enough to put a good flow rate through the tank. CThompson
The bulk head fitting you need to put into that hole, should match the size of the pumps outlet/inlet. That is the hole size will be dictated by the pumps outlet size. Xtreme Aquarium can drill it. Centring is no problem as he has a drill stand with suction caps to secure it in place.
