glass wall + clay pot = negative fun

Recommended Posts

hey all,

i have a large clay pot i want to put in my tank. problem is. when my fish spook and slam into it, the pot will probably slam into the glass (the fish are decent sized)

does anybody have any suggestions that might make me sleep a little easier?

or am i just being paranoid??? blink.gif

thanks heaps!

chris

Mine is semi-buried in the gravel; it's not going anywhere...

thanks for the reply PHL!

unfortunately i'm running an "almost bare" setup - there's not even enough crushed coral to cover the whole of the bottom

normally i'd do what you do and there wouldn't be an issue, but in the interests of cleanliness i've tried to keep this tank pretty minimalist

cheers

chris

hello there mate,

if you have rocks, the perhaps use 1 or 2 to use as weigh just inside the post or you can put it just against the corner of the tank so it touches the tank so when the fish spook, it will not make too much noise. just a suggestion hope it helps.

Ok ill take a stab in the dark. If looks aint much of a issue grab a tube of silicone and run a good thick bead of it around all the edges of the pot. Once done put the pot on all the angles you can think of on a table to check that only the silicone bead will ever touch a flat surface. If you know what i mean.
