You can get a nice Kodac point and click digital for about $250-$300, it is 5mega pixels, but I can't remember the model. My sister just got one they are nice and easy to use. You will need to buy expanded memory though. smile.gif

She used to be very, very aggressive. So i had to get rid of one of my long time cichlids sad.gif but i recently picked up two electric yellows (as from past experience they usually do well with aggressive fish) and so far so good, no hostility between them at all bigsmile.gif

I was thinking of getting another Psudotropheus, like a male? or would that make things even worse? It's funny, because the only reason i picked her up 8 months ago was because she was all alone and was only $4, so i figured no one wanted to buy her (looked fairly colourless when very young). But now shes quite good lookin' smile.gif

Ummm.... Adding a male lombardoi can vary on a few things. lol.

What other tank mates?

What size tank?

Future plans for the tank (Other residents?)

As, In my experience when lombardoi want to breed... The male becomes very very aggressive. He will pester the female relentlessly (And may kill her)

If you want to add a male, I would suggest adding more females.. (Depending on tank size)

My male, once full grown would attack the side of the glass non stop if i went and sat and watched the tank... He was one mean yellow/orange/gold machine, lol.

But if it's not a big tank, then i would just leave it the way it is if it's working ^^

A lot can also vary on the temperment of the male fish, as some can be Hyper aggressive (Destroy everything, lol and try breed with everything...) Or some can be quite placid (For a lombardoi anyways)

This is just my opinion formed on my experience with keeping the fish. smile.gif I'm sure others will post their opinions!

Either way, It's a nice looking female. wink.gif

Until i added the two electric yellows last week, my female would splash the water out of the tank and onto a seat where ppl sit in the morning LOL.gif trying to get attention. She'd also throw rocks at the glass, pretty amazing fish imo. But she's calmed down a hell of a lot lately....

I'll try to find a male (cant really hurt putting him in and seeing what happens). If theres to much aggresion i'll just take him back cool.gif

1 male & 1 female is a recipe for disaster. If you think your female is agro, wait till you see a male. Lombardoi need at least 4 females to 1 male (3 minimum). He will harras her to death and your e-yellows as well if he is hyperdominant. I would either get 2 more females and a male or just get another female. Lombardoi females are quite attractive so that wouldn't be a problem if a there are no males. Do you know what males look like? What size is your tank?

yeah, the males are pretty much the same except orange/yellow instead of blue (atleast when young). I'll probably end up getting more females if the males are as super aggressive as you say. Are female pseudotropheus lombardoi aggressive towards eachother? (compared to males). If so i might have to sell/take back my current one as my tank is a bit to small to have a war going on in there sad.gif (2ft long).

You can get some shell dwelling cichlids like L.Multifasciatus or L.occelatus (sp?). They are good cichlids for beginners and very interesting to watch. Or you can get a dwarf species like Pelvichromus Pulcher (AKA Kribensis) they will breed for you, have a great nature and vivid colors.

PS: Lombardoi grow about 14cm (max), thats too big for a 2ft tank in my oppinion. I started with lombardoi and a 2ft tank just as you did and discovered very quick i either needed to get a bigger tank or sell/give them away. If you want to buy a bigger tank 3ft would be the bare minimum for a small lombardoi colony (1m 3f).
