Luckfish123
How do i take apart the pump head of a Eheim 2217 cannister filter to clean the impellor? I do not want to break anything so i need directions. I looked in the booklet eheim supplied with the filter but they say to take apart carefully, not how to. r.d.m
with the pumphead removed ,turn it over and you'll see a plastc bar (the locking piece) twist this one way or the other and lift off ,the impeller usually comes with it. under this is a round plate with a hole in the middle , this lifts out ,when refitting the locking piece make sure it engages in its little pips on the pumphead , this should be all you need to know (fig I in your manual shows the bit you twist) and just a word of caution the impeller shaft is ceramic ,if you bend it it breaks everything else is tough as nails
