htm
I have bred a couple of Kribs and all seemed to be going ok. They are starting to die after about a week of being free swimming. I think it might be not enough food. I have them in a 100 litre tank with the parents and have a sponge as a pre filter to a trickle. There is quite a bit of algae in the tank. I feed them a prepared liquid food(from the store). The pH is about 7.4 and GH hardness about 160. Some of the fry seem fine while others dont. What sort of food should i be feeding them? I have a pair of convicts that have just laid and would like to fix the problem (if possible) before they become free swimming. Any advice much appreciated.Thx. YeW
Microworms are good fry food. Are the fry that are remaining active and eating well? No drastic water changes or filter cleans recently?? Dave.
htm
Actually i did a water change today. The healthy ones seem to be swimming around quite actively. How do i start a micro worm culture?
Ged
Here is a link which explains the principles of a microworm culture but someone may have a culture that they may be able to split. http://members.optushome.com.au/chelmon/microwrm.htm Gerard
htm
Thx for the link. I have done some surfing and have found a number of different foods to feed. Daphnia, Micro worms, vinegar eels, green water, infusoria. With the MW and VE i need to get a starter culture. Is that something that can be purchased from a store? ViS
I'm sure thare are plenty of members in the ACT who have cultures and wouldn't mind you taking a teaspoon full No need to buy one from a shop (if you could find one that sold them).
