noyd
Has anyone decided to give these a go with their Tropheus? They looked good and tasty (For the fish) so I thought I would give them a try as a treat here and there.

noyd
Don't be silly dude, I did not taste it... the dude at the shop said he tasted it and it was beautiful (This is a prime example of a real cichlid enthusiast).. So um, yeah.
MoliroMan
i have tried soft and moist spirulina in the past but did not continue using it (didn't taste very nice!!!). But i have started to use New life spectrum Cichild formula which the tropheus absolutely adore and have shown no signs of bloat so far. hth Dave

MoliroMan
i thought this discussion was on HBH super soft spirulina! i have taken the plunge and bought some HBH super soft krill and spirulina from Auburn aquariums today and started feeding my tropheus. I have soaked each in some aquarium water to soften the pellets. I must say the spirulina pellets are damn large but tend to break up quickly into little bits when consumed. I would probably recommend using it more for medium to larger size tropheus. It also smells rather strange - reminds me of chinese herbs/medicines if u know what i mean? i will only feed the krill once a week as a treat! Let u know how things pan out! noyd
Yeah it has got a very strange smell to it compared to the OSI spirulina... I just crush it up for my Duboisis maybe once every two days.. see how we go =)
noyd
Well about a week into it and I am having bloat with one of my duboisis already... I suppose this is the last of me trying to resort to other food... I will stick to OSI spirulina

Nigel
The problem with most people that keep Tropheus is not what they feed them but the fact that they over feed them.
MoliroMan
i am still feeding my tropheus supersoft spirulina by HBH and have so far had no evidence of bloat. However, i must admit they do not like it even half as much as the NLS pellets. I didn't know the fat content was so high though. Might do some more research. Anyone from HBH to defend their product? poxboy
I don't keep Tropheus, but I have found HBH Soft & Moist the best breeding contitioner by far for my ocellatus, julidichromis, crimson tides and bristlenose. I just don't feed it as a staple, as I think it's to high in fat for that. Bretto.
