Newo
if you stick your hand in the tank and wee wEE them off, do they zap ya?
kevkoi
Not funny when one of these things decide to ZAP ya!!!
Ducksta
if you stick your hand in the tank and wee wEE them off, do they zap ya? Sure do buddy. And by all reports they pack quite a punch when they get some size to them. However I think unless your hand is in the tank while it hunts, or your really trying to get yourself hurt, you have more chance of being bitten by cichlids
Alex
I've been zapped a few times, all were my own fault. Having electric catfish in your tank ad not experiencing a couple shocks wouldn't be right!
LucifersJester
Sounds like an interesting time to be had in ones tank On a serious note - does anyone know or know where I can find out which states this catfish can be kept legally in the aquarium?? r.d.m
a mate of mine in england had one of these ,it grew over 30cm awesome creature but iwould expect there highly illegal in australia ,for those who didnt download the national geographic cichlid doco there is footage of one of these seeing off 2 yes2 otters about 1.5 metres long! their native to the rift lakes and would definately be in a tank by themselves
Alex
I think WA is the only state where they are legal. I have mine with other fish, no probs so far.
