Josh
I was woundering today, as i spent another day stuck in the office because of the wet weather, How old do fish get? I know it would depend on the species but do americans last longer then africans and which of the africans live the longest. I had a pair of oscars once that i kept for nearly 5 years and then for no real reason they died within a short time of each other. I just put it down to old age, but I dont really know what would be considered old Any opinions welcome Josh
Ash
IIRC most largish americans like oscars are ment to have potential 10-15yr lifespans. I would assume larger africans are the same?

TropheusQueen
Hey hey, I have a seventeen year old pleco and fifteen year old clown loaches. My oldest malawans are now eight years old with some tangs following a close second. I suppose that it would depend on how quickly they reach maturity and become sexually active as to how long their lifespan is.
