Milky film over eye?

Recommended Posts

A few days ago I noticed a cream/milky coloured spot ~1-2mm on the top part of one of my salmon tail catfish's eye. I have three. They are a great addition for cleaning up after those messy cichlids laugh.gif

I thought it may have scratched it on a rock. Well today the whole eye is now covered with this 'film'. It's not cotton wool like in appearance rather smooth. I'm guessing bacteria. If so...should I Melafix? Can it spread to other fish?

Would anyone be able to shine some light on this? Much appreciated.

Yep Melafix!

one of my orange chromides recently had both eyes seriously cloud up. within a week of treatment with melafix it came good. doesn't even like there was ever a problem.
