Fishroom heating

Does anybody use reptile mats for fish tank/room heating, they seem good prices and very low wattage but one disadvantage is no theromostat control but i suppose you could get around that with putting in a control switch or timer any ideas.

I would probably want better thermostatic control on the fish tanks i keep. I have never seen anyone used heat pads to heat a tank. I use them for germinating seeds though. Very cool!

hi

try the heat pad used under water beds. great thermo control. maybe a little bit pricey to start with, but they last just about forever. how many 200/300 watt heaters would you burn out or break in 10yrs? personally, i don't use them, but i know someone that uses 4 of them, and has no complaints about the power bill.

i have too many tanks to use individual heaters, i use central room heating.

J A T cheers; Colin
