cuckoo catfish

I try to leave the host at least a week. If you strip cuckoo eggs too early they are hard to tumble as they are so small and light.

Once they cuckoos have hatched and put on a little size, they will be ok in a fry saver with some eggs or BBS to chomp on.

The catfish hatch before the cichlids and feed on the hatching cichkid fry. Strip about the 14 day mark or you will endup with just a couple of BIG catfish fry. They are cannibalistic and eat each other when all the cichlid fry have been eaten.

Hi novafishy, I haven't figured out how to post a pic yet and the cuckoo's are really shy, they only come out at night and the host mum hides behind the rocks. The hosts that I am using are electric blue's/lombardoi's.

They are in a 4ft x 18 x 18 tank.
