ViS Posted October 12, 2004 Share Posted October 12, 2004 I have quite a few of these too, except I make them by cutting them in half first, scraping out the meat (a cheese knife works well) then drilling a holesaw hole in each half about 2cm from the bottom. I have never had any affects on my water parameters using coconuts, as long as you boil them good like I mentioned in the article that seems to get out all of the tanins. the tanins is what will lower you ph.
