Matthew
G'day 8 or 9 inches! (?) If this is the case she may well be another species. I once saw a HUGE bristlenose and no matter what the owner did he would not breed with the normal bristly females. Perhaps the same applies to your new lady

jebe
Just dropped a plastic ruler in the thank, she is not as big as I said just shy of 17cm. Yes she looks fat all the time. but the male is always chasing her off Should I try one of my other boys (smaller)?
Matthew
Gday check out this link SCP profile for Bristlies It may be worth putting another male in the tank with her, sometimes for whatever reason, the two fish simply don't get along. Also remember the new dad to be needs to be in good condition because he will not be eating very much after he starts looking after his eggs/fry.
