MikeWs Fish
Is this a good method: 1 10L bucket filled with old aqaurium water a heater and a powerhead for a small pump, 3 sick fish and the treatment for them. Its a 10 day teatment, how often will i have to change the water etc? Mike W
YeW
Mike - A bucket is IMHO too small and too subject to fluctuations in water chemistry. Go to a discount shop and buy yourself a 70-100 litre platic storage container with lid (will cost about $10-$30 (depending on how cheap your discount shop is). Setup your hospital tank in there. Include in the "tank" adequate cover (a few pots or pipes) heater good aeration good filtration HTH -
Ducksta
A word from the wise, these tubs in Big W are actually cheaper and better quality than those I have bought in $2 shops. 110 litre WILL NOT BEND when full of water cost me under $20 each. 90 litre at $2 shops cost $20 and will sag/bend when filled with water. Naturally this isnt going to be the exact same tubs in every store, but I thought Id mention it.
wui39
I'm a fan of the 75L sebco black garbage bins. $14 from bunnings
Ducksta
If they are the same ones I am thinking of, I dont find the visibility much good when it comes to darker fish who like to hang low in the water column. Just my opinion.
