Phenomena
Hi all, My discus are sick. The base of the pectoral fins is swollen and have small nodules like salt grains. Overtime the fins get damaged and detached. The fish doesn't scratch. It's contagious as started with one. Water: Amonia 0 ppm, Nitrate 5 ppm, temp: 30C. You can see here the fin is partially gone Here's the other fin of the same fish Here's another fish infected I've tried Salts, M/blue, Formaldehyde, M/green, Arciflavin, Pimafix on different course (5days each course). It showed some improvement when I used a mix of salts, M/green & Formaldehyde but doen't rid off completely. Can anyone tell me what this is and how to treat? I'm so desperate and planning to go to a vet this weekend. Thanks, DD
E4G13M4N
I have seen similar once with a severum but in this case its not the same thing, usually when the fins have little nobule like sweelings at the base, its a indicator of thyroid problems. But its not contagious. Unfortunately the vet would be the best option in this case.
Phenomena
Hi Eagleman, Thanks for the reply. I've asked people in 3 other forums. I was hoping to get more ideas before going to a vet. Thanks anyway, DD
