potatoes rock!! cool.gif

I think it's to do with some Douglas Adams book or something, I've only read "The guide" & the first Dirk Gentley book so I'm unsure the total significance...

It's his forum (even though he probably says it isn't anymore), so he can have whatever title he wants laugh.gif

Plus, he really likes to look at potatoes wink.gif

And the dirt that's on them probably tongue.gif

What's not to admire about such a lovely starchy tuber wink.gif.

I do indeed admire the soil that covers potatoes - did everyone know that in 1 gram of soil there is 100, 000, 000 living cells, representing between 5000-1000 species of bacteria, fungi, archaea, protozoa and other critters? That's 1 gram! The more you think about it the more astounding it becomes!!!

G'day

So Yew is trying to obtain some respectability by falsely claiming to be a potato admirer, when in fact he is a DIRT admirer.

This methinks is using dirty tactics tongue.gif

Good to see you back!!! (Even if you are a little dirty atm laugh.gif )

CYA at the auction.

PS So what is the real story, come on give us the dirt woot.gif !

Hi All -

I admire soil as well wink.gif. Don't make me choose!

Havent been online that much guys - soil, roots, fungi etc are keeping me very busy. Looking forward to an unmicrobiological weekend :D! Though manning the "hotdog" stall can be a microbiological experience wink.gif (joking!)

There are some wonderful varieties of potato too. Big ones, small ones, knobbly, smooth, white, golden, red, purple, black ... sweet tasting, nutty tasting, crunchy, floury, so many kinds. Potatoes are a terrific tuber.
