Ant
Gold spot grow same size as sailfin (up to 2ft). They are more expencive than chocolates and sailfin. I payed $80 for a 3-4cm fish. Not sure on the full size price. Mine is very shy, but is an awesome looking fish. Anthony
Bucky
hey i think if yu read a bit about them you will find that the gold spot and sailfin only grow to about 30cm and the standard plec grow to about 40cm not quite 2 foot sorry
dory
hey, i bought a 5cm gold spot about 3 weeks ago for $90 and now he is about 6cm and looking awesome. I like him alot better than my sailfin, great fish Cheers Dory
mianos
My gold spot cost $75 when it was about 5cm. It's a nice fish with quite a different personality to my brown spot in the same tank.

Personally I have found my Gibby grows much quicker than my gold spot but that's anecdotal as I have had the gibby for a lot longer in my 400L tank and it seems a much larger fsh. The gold spot is in another tank with a brown spot that I bought at something like 4cm and the brown spot has grown a lot faster and hogs the bottom a bit as it's only a 200L tank. absolute_vodka01
In Sunny QLD about 2 weeks ago a guy sold off 5 big GSplecos that were 18-30cm for $650 for the group or $150 each. i think there were 5. I bought mine about march and he was $23 at 3cm. I love auctions and got given one for my birthday and they are both pushing 18cm. one of my fav catfish. adam

cichlid silly
hi,gold spots although are stated in planet catfish to be at fullgrown 20+cm but seem to get a bit larger from what ive seen. my goldspot was 7 cm when igot him about 4-5 months ago and now is atleast 18cm-19cm, hes with other gibbi's and seems to be growing just as quick? they get fed a truck load though?imo ithink a full grown gold spot would be worth $150 -200 but also depends on what the buyer is prepared to pay.
