Hey Guys,

Ok what im looking for is that article in which the author (American) conducted chemical analyses on different kitty litters . I have seen it before but cant remember where i saw it. Does anyone know if any Aussie has done the same thing with Kitty Litters Available in Australia?? If Not, im Hopeing i can Do it when i get back to Uni, that is if my professor lets me.

So any help finding the article would be good. thumb.gif

I think you will find pretty much all kitty litter is based on an iron rich clay called bentonite. I can't imagine there is any component that would make one noticably better than another, other than the absence of deodourisers etc, which you will not find in the generic brands.

Hmm Depending on where the actual material is taken from may affect its chemical makeup.

Kitty litter can also be diatomite and lucern pellets.

Yeah i have found they are mostly made from these materials, havent seen too many that say they are made from bentonite.

BNE

Whats BNE????

That analysis might be the one i was looking for, thought they had more kitty litter comparisons tho, but maybe i was mistaken.

Any other users of Kitty Litters as Substrate???
