MikeWs Fish
if you're really keen on getting it off - clean it off yourself with your fingers, or by a couple of bristlenose for the tank.

CThompson
If it is hair algae, SAEs will definitely eat it. Wether they take if from the shell or not is a different matter. It needs be asked however, what is the pH of the tank where the snails are? If you got African water, this is not the water for an SAE. Personally, I wouldn’t be too fussed about the algae growing on the snail, it won’t hurt it, so what’s the problem? But that’s just me maybe. If I was in your position, and I really didn’t want the algae, I would use a green scourer and scrub the shell. Craig
