Clarkey
Got home tonight and my female bristlenose was lying on her back breathing rapidly, there were a few eggs outside my alpha males cave. I tried to move her with a net and she got upright so I left her for a bit - about an hour later I checked and she was on the glass like nothing had happened. Is it possible that she is just exhausted from laying eggs? Any ideas? Alex
Cheekie1
Hi Alex I had the same experenice with my female B/N about 2 weeks ago. At first I thought the she had died since she was lying on her back, by when I went closer to the tank she started to swim and attached herself onto the glass as usual. I didn't know what was wrong with her until a day later I thought that she might have laid some eggs as all this happened outside of the cave where she lays them. I found the male in there guarding a batch of eggs. So I just came up with the same thought as you, that she was exhuasted from laying the eggs.
